Reporting Deadlines
The regulatory framework for commercial gambling in Trinidad and Tobago is established primarily by the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Act, No. 8 of 2021. The Act establishes the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Commission (“the Commission”) and provides the legislative framework for the licensing, regulation, supervision and control of gambling activities that fall within the Commission’s jurisdiction.
The regulatory framework comprises a number of interrelated legislative and regulatory instruments. Depending on the nature of the regulated activity, these may include:
– the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Act, 2021;
– Regulations made under the Act;
– licence terms and conditions;
– codes, standards and technical requirements issued or adopted by the Commission;
– guidelines and regulatory guidance issued by the Commission; and
– lawful directions and other regulatory requirements applicable to the regulated person.
